The Irishman’s Impressive Awards Run

As you all know, last year we finished work on Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman! We proudly worked on 750 VFX shots spanning a total of 75 minutes of the epic film. A project we won’t be forgetting any time soon.
Impressively, VFX Supervisor Pablo Helman, ILM, and SSVFX had a great run on the awards circuit. The Irishman was nominated for its outstanding Visual Effects at The Oscars, BAFTA’s, VES and countless others, while winning two VES awards including Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature.
We’re obsessed with the film, naturally. Well worth a watch. We’re certainly looking forward to Scorece’s next movie, Killers of the Flower Moon!
Official synopsis of The Irishman (available to stream on Netflix):
Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran is a former labour union official…and hitman who honed his killing skills in Italy during the Second World War. In old age, he recounts his life to a priest and reveals the hits that defined his mob career with the Bufalino crime family. One story, in particular, is his part in the disappearance of his life-long friend, Jimmy Hoffa; the former president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, who mysteriously vanished in late July 1975 at the age of 62.
